Kayaking!

I have this great friendIMG_0003, Lisa who has introduced me to various extracurricular activites.  That includes biking, running and swimming for the purpose of triathlons, and lately, she’s been inviting me along to go kayaking. My other lovely friend, Liz, is so generous as to allow me  to use one of her kayaks – She even loads it for me!  I just show up and it’s all there waiting for me… How lucky am I?!  Gabrielle and I scored.

If anyone was wondering what I do all day when my kids are at school – this is one of them.  Life is good.

Desert Botanical Gardens

For our  MLK Holiday,  Brandon came up with some fun ideas to do.  I was impressed with his research!  One of the things he found was an Art Glass Exhibition going on at the Botanical Gardens, so we decided to check it out.  We had fun meandering through the beautiful displays, listening to the ramblings of the girls.

We even spent a little time scoping out plants to possibly add to our home landscape. Here’s some of out favorites:IMG_0322 IMG_0315

Natalie's 11th Birthday Party

Since Natalie's birthday is the 27th of December, we usually push back the celebration until all her friends are back in town and school resumes so she can get invitations to them. If I was more organized I guess I could hand out invitations before Christmas Break, but we all know that isn't me during the holidays!!!

Luckily for Mom and Dad we only do "parties" every other year, and after this party (they are all even now), we get to go to just 8, 12, and 16 for the party years!! Yeah!

Her party was at Jeepers in Chandler, and it was kind of ghetto (Brandon: "kind of?!"), but the girls didn't seem to notice. It was a good time had by all.
